However, certain entities in which the Group owns 20% or more of the voting rights are not included as Group associates, since the Group does not have the capacity to exercise significant influence over these entities.

The net impairment losses in “Available-for-sale financial assets” over the year are recognized under the heading “Impairment losses on financial assets (net) – Other financial instruments not at fair value through profit or loss” (see Note 49) in the consolidated income statements for that year.

This is because the consolidated entities intend to hold such financial instruments to maturity.

No additional information is presented with respect to the other entities as the holdings in these cases are not significant.

The financial statements of the subsidiaries are consolidated with those of the Bank using the global integration method.
